My Students

My students are ambitious learners who are constantly adjusting to changes. Covid-19 has led to many absences and less time in the classroom. This creates challenges as they miss instruction and important concepts.

Students benefit the most when they come to school excited and ready to learn.

When students are in my classroom, it is important to create a positive environment where students feel supported to meet their goals.

My Project

It is important to keep a focus on students' social-emotional learning as they are experiencing Covid-19. I want to make this a priority in my classroom by creating a calm corner for when students are feeling overwhelmed. In this calm corner I would include the sensory fidgets, legos, stickers, noise cancellation headphones and the book of emotions set. The essential oils are for the diffuser that I have in my classroom. So many students have a hard time focusing when they are worried or anxious about something. They can set their timer and take the time to reset.

I want to give my students the resources and tools they need, in order to have a positive day.

There is less group work and students are at their desks more because of social distancing and the rise in cases. The wobble stools, wobble cushions, fidget bands, portable lap desks, and pedal bikes will help students focus and get their energy out by giving them the chance to move. The pencil pouches and erasers are for students to have a place to store materials and stay organized.
