My Project

These resources will give my students engaging, hands-on opportunities to practice their speech and language skills in a fun and meaningful way. The materials will help make therapy more interactive and allow students to practice important communication skills through play, conversation, and activities. Most importantly, these resources will help my students build confidence as they learn that their voices matter and that they have something important to say.

As a speech-language pathologist, I use engaging, hands-on materials to create meaningful opportunities for students to practice communication skills.

Games and interactive activities allow students to work on following directions, vocabulary, sentence formulation, answering questions, describing, sequencing, turn-taking, social communication, problem-solving, and functional communication in motivating contexts. Sequencing cards provide visual, hands-on support for students working on language organization, story retelling, vocabulary, sentence formulation, comprehension, and inferencing. Students can arrange pictures in logical order and use them to describe events, explain their thinking, and build complete narratives.

Each student has unique strengths, needs, and personalities, and I feel so lucky to be part of their communication journey. Whether they are working on saying new sounds, learning new vocabulary, following directions, or finding the confidence to communicate with others, their progress is incredibly rewarding to see.
