My Students

How did you learn best? Most of my students are visual and hands-on learners. We need materials in our classroom that will allow to learn based on their learning style; these materials will help them do that!

I teach wonderful second graders in a high-need school district.

My students face many challenges on a daily basis. However, when they come to school they give their all and are a pleasure to teach! They are very eager to learn and want to be successful in all they do.

My Project

The word spacers will help my students put spaces between their words. This will allow them to produce neat,readable work that will make them feel proud! The reading trackers will help my students keep track of what they are reading. These trackers help them feel more confident when they are reading and help them build their fluency rate & comprehension skills. The math manipulatives will be used while I am teaching that particular unit in whole group and small group instruction. Then they will be put at centers for the children to use daily. The geometric shapes make the shapes come alive and allow them to count the corners, sides and faces of each shape. By manipulating the shapes the students will be able to understand the concepts being taught. This is also true of the fractions circles, base ten blocks and clock. The students will be able to manipulate these materials to help them master these difficult skills.

Your donation will provide my students with hands-on practice in the area of math.

You will be providing them with materials that will make it possible for them to build their math, fluency & comprehension skills, as well as their confidence!
