My Students

Our school consists of over 800 students in preschool through fifth grade. Over half of our population is considered low income and qualifies for free or reduced lunch. Our school represents a wide range of cultures, including African American, American Indian, Hawaiian, Hispanic, Cuban, Asian, and more.

Many students receive English Language Learning services, as their native language is not English.

Our staff works hard to support all of our students and provide them with a quality education, despite their many hardships.

My students range from kindergarten to second grade. All of my students have learning difficulties, social/emotional problems, live in poverty, and most qualify for free lunch. My kids work very hard to overcome their weaknesses they are born into.

My Project

Even though my students are little, they need supplies too. The envelopes, labels, paper, highlighters, and other supplies will allow them to write to their own pen pals throughout the school year.

Giving students the opportunity to write to pen pals allows them to grow socially, academically, and personally.

These materials will allow this project to become a reality. I can just see the smiles on the students faces when they are able to read their pen pal letters and be able to respond back to them as well. Please help these students have this enjoyable experience.
