My Project

A kitchen in our dramatic play area will help my students to build essential social, emotional, and language skills through hands-on, imaginative play. Our current kitchen is outdated and is missing all of the cabinet doors on the front, making it difficult to use and giving the space an unfinished appearance.

Our young learners are full of curiosity and learn best through hands-on play.

A new play kitchen will provide meaningful opportunities for children to develop important skills through imaginative and interactive experiences. Children will build social skills as they learn to share, take turns, cooperate, and play together. It will also introduce early math skills as they sort, count, and organize play food. Additionally, the kitchen will support fine motor development as children practice stirring, pouring, scooping, and using small tools, helping to strengthen their hand muscles and coordination.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
