My students need new materials such as big book kits, Vocabulary Match-Ups, and Magnetic Descriptive Words Rods to keep them engaged during language therapy sessions!
"Words, in my humble opinion, are the most inexhaustible source of magic we have." -Albus Dumbledore
I serve 45-60 elementary aged children per year, each of whom is intelligent, creative, and unique.
My students, however, often struggle to communicate their wants, needs, and ideas. Working within the therapy room and within their own classrooms, they work incredibly hard every day to learn things that may seem easy to you or me and they deserve to have some fun while practicing their speech and language!
My Project
I have a VERY language based caseload this year. Many of my students are working on categorizing, sequencing, answering questions, formulating sentences, and following directions. Working in a school, emphasizing literature and language is SO important to ensure their ability to succeed and flourish within the classroom! I've compiled a collection of items that will not only target these skills but will also allow the students to work hands on with magnetic sequencing and descriptive words, pictures for story retell and answering questions and big books with props to allow them to participate within the lesson rather than only passively listening.
