Literature-Based Learning Centers

My students need a set of Literature-Based Learning Centers and 8 popular hardcover books to help develop essential kindergarten skills in a fun, exciting way. There's no better way than using books they love!

My Students

Have you ever had a light bulb moment when a story you are reading is directly related to events happening in your life? My kindergarten students are just beginning to make connections between literature and literacy skills. Now it's time to see their light bulbs GLOW!

I am blessed to have kindergarten students that are active, energetic, and engaged in the classroom activities that they are given.

Literature is used in our classroom to help students smoothly transition from one subject/task to another. Our classroom has developed a strong passion for storytelling, both through reading and sharing. It is my hope to capitalize on this love of literature by creating literacy centers inspired by some of our most beloved grade-level books.

My Project

These literature-based learning centers extend essential literacy skills (sequencing, sight words, rhyming, beginning sounds, etc.) in easy-to-use games and activities. Using books such as 'Chicka Chicka Boom Boom', 'Quick as a Cricket' and 'The Little Red Hen'(among others), students are given the opportunity to work in differentiated groups of four, building literacy skills while strengthening his or her social interactions and independence.

Helping me fund this project will help provide our classroom with hardcover classics and activities that will foster a love of literature for my students this year, and for years to come.
