My Project

Music and literacy is so closely tied together. We teach our children the alphabet through music and then abandon music in literacy. All students learn best through music. Music sets memory in all of us - especially our youth.

Help me to link music and literacy together with my special needs students.

Help them to understand that words have meaning! Shaker eggs and other musical manipulatives assist in engaging children with the stories and music. Allowing them to hear the music and relate it to the written words on the page boosts their confidence and assists in helping them learn to read!!!
