This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
Students have finally returned to in person learning! After a year and a half of virtual instruction we are eager to hit the ground running. We are a small group of energetic 2nd graders!
Our school community serves low income students and lacks learning materials.
Our scholars are eager to have educational experiences and are extremely thoughtful in their learning. We our focusing on math and reading as these subjects are the foundations of learning. Many students did not have the opportunity to learn with real books in hands or math materials due to the format of online learning. With the limited materials in our current classroom, we have had many "lightbulb" moments, with additional materials the opportunities for growth are endless!
Thank you for taking the time to read about our project. We are a fun, loving small group of second graders who are eager to bring learning into action!
My Project
Students need appropriate books in their hands to learn to read and foster of love of it. Many of our students do not have books at home making the need for a classroom library even more essential.
Math materials will be used in our upcoming topics focusing of three digit addition and subtraction - hands on materials aids in regrouping!
Our scholars are eager to learn and these tools will make the process meaningful and ensure that students have a strong foundation of math and reading skills. Giving students a strong foundation in literacy and math is essential in their future!
