My Project

Have you heard of the Toniesbox? Well, I’ve got a story for you. Picture this - a classroom full of students all increasing their comprehension skills, creating a love of reading, deepening their vocabulary, and enriching their imagination.

A Toniesbox allows children to listen to songs, stories, and text all through a safe audio device.

They are completely safe, exciting, and so easy a 2-year-old could use it.

By purchasing the Tonies figures, I will be able to deliver audiobooks to my entire school. This could be used in a center, whole class working, or even as an activity to deepen their understanding. The texts are rich, engaging, clever, and have a rich vocabulary. Students are absorbing the context because they are able to visualize the text while engaged in the content.

My students come to school behind their peers in vocabulary, fluency, and comprehension - all because of where they live and the language they speak at home. By allowing my students the opportunity to be exposed to the same stories as their peers, with a fluent model, they can begin to go further into their learning abilities.

We are also requesting a swiffer wet jet starter kit to keep our floors clean after meals. We previously had the pads funded through another project, but it turns out our swiffer wet jet had broke as well.
