My Project

What I love about my students is that some of them love to read. That number increases on a regular basis. They are special because they have been resilient in very challenging situations. I have seen them come to the library with tears and leave with a smile on their faces. These materials will create a cozy place where they can read and simultaneously reflect on their social emotional selves. My goal is to increase their desire to read in a safe space.

Lindsay Lions need to read as much as possible.

Some of my students have experienced trauma by the age of 6, preventing them from meeting developmental milestones. Our population is Title One, thereby limiting access to resources. Social emotional learning takes place in the library in addition to providing content. The items from this grant will allow students to feel at ease to come to read or just reflect in our library.
