Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our Yearbook and Mountain Cat TV programs give students the opportunity to learn real-world media, leadership, and production skills while helping create a positive school culture across campus. Throughout the year, students work behind the scenes to produce videos, school broadcasts, photography projects, campus events, and the school yearbook. These programs give students a creative outlet while teaching responsibility, teamwork, communication, and problem-solving skills that they will carry with them long after middle school.

This project will help provide important supplies that our students use on a regular basis.

Painters tape may seem simple, but it is constantly used for organizing filming areas, securing cords safely, labeling equipment, marking camera positions, and helping students set up productions and events professionally. The vacuum will help us maintain a clean and organized classroom environment in a space filled daily with paper scraps, photo materials, decorations, and heavy student traffic. Keeping our room clean helps students take pride in their workspace and keeps equipment safe and organized.

The sound system will have one of the biggest impacts on our program and school community. It will allow students to help run school events, presentations, recognition activities, and media productions with clearer audio and more professional quality. Students in our media program are often responsible for helping with campus events, and this equipment will give them valuable hands-on experience while helping events run more smoothly for students, staff, and families.

Due to ongoing budget cuts, many of these items are no longer easily accessible through school funding. Like many educators, I often spend personal money to keep these programs moving forward. Your support will directly help students continue to have meaningful, hands-on learning experiences that build confidence, creativity, leadership, and school pride. Every donation helps our students continue creating something special for our campus community.
