My Project

I have the honor of teaching hidden gems...HUHS students! The ones that are most overlooked and least expected to rise to greatness in our community. My goal for this project is to provide a learning environment with few distractions and incorporate as many tools for successful learning as possible. I am requesting a document camera, electric pencil sharpeners, eraseable multicolored pens, crafting scissors, Lysol wipes, Kleenex, and hand sanitizer.

A document camera will allow me to record lessons and demonstrate in real time how to complete tasks while building a digital library of those lessons.

Many students face mitigating challenges and struggle with attendance. Inconsistent attendance affects comprehension and application on assignments and assessments. Recorded lessons will allow all students to view and revisit them as often as necessary for learning.

Our curriculum requires students to take notes, revise them and provide peer feedback. Using pencils and colored eraseable ink makes learning these skills easier, as well as application in other classes. Pencils are prepackaged unsharpened; it's necessary to have two electric sharpeners at the self-service student stations in our classroom. Students work independently and collaboratively on projects. The crafting scissors in combination with other materials can be the distinction between excellent or satisfactory work.

The start of the school year is an exciting time for students and teachers! The more materials I can provide, the more equitable learning can be. I also believe it is extremely important to provide a clean classroom year round. I have an autoimmune disease and the common cold or allergies can be detrimental. Therefore cleaning wipes, Kleenex and hand sanitizer are critical for our classroom!
