This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

When COVID hit in March 2020 and we had to set up for online teaching, it had its challenges when it came to art and if the students had enough supplies for each project. With that in mind, I started shifting my focus on how we can utilize technology more online and in the classrooms when it comes to art practices.

My school does not have a MakerSpace with the right tools to have the students explore stop motion animation, photography, and creating videos.

I have a background in photography, fine arts, and science. I would like to bring all those experiences and tools into the art classroom, students don't always want to draw, paint, or work with clay. Some want to explore how technology works and they are at the right age to start understanding how the process works given the right tools.

Please help fund this dream I have to create a MakerSpace in the art room and have students explore a new world of technology.
