My Project

This grant proposal requests a Mac laptop so students can create videos and songs aimed at fostering social and emotional skills. I received a MacBook from another grant I wrote 10 years ago and it's been an invaluable resource with my students. It's no longer working and I am requesting another one so I can continue empowering students to harness their creative talents to create songs and videos that encourage peers to be Upstanders!

With the increasing importance of emotional intelligence in academic and personal success, this initiative provides a creative outlet for students to express themselves while building vital interpersonal skills.

Through video production and songwriting, students will explore themes of empathy, kindness, teamwork, resilience, and self-awareness. These multimedia projects will deepen their understanding of emotional intelligence and will also contribute to a positive and inclusive culture, where diverse perspectives are celebrated and mutual understanding is strengthened. By investing in a mac laptop for this purpose, we aim to empower our students to become confident communicators and empathetic leaders.
