Lighting Up Our Future

Help me give my students Lakeshore's Light Table Pegs and Sensory Set and other supporting materials for our light table that will support our learning in the areas of mathematics, literacy, STEM, and art.

My Project

Kindergarten wants to light up our learning experiences with materials for our light table. The materials requested in this project will provide opportunities for my students to learn about sorting, patterns, color mixing, animals and X-rays, construction, letter recognition, word building, and designing as well as many other important concepts.

Students will engage with these materials for hands on creative learning experiences.

The bright colors and shiny, translucent appearance of the manipulatives will increase student attentiveness to tasks. Increased attentiveness and focus will increase learning outcomes.

Many of the students in class are from bilingual and/or low socioeconomic areas of our city. These learning resources are materials most students will not have access to without the generous donation of friends, family, and other members of the Donors Choose community.
