Light Up My World With Magna-Tiles Part 2

Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

I am excited to work with a diverse group of 9 EC Pre-K students! I have the wonderful opportunity to work in a public Title I school in NC. We are a military connected school as well as a CEP school where 100% of our students receive free breakfast and lunch each day.

While my students have socioeconomic and developmental abilities that vary, it does not limit their love and curiosity for learning!

My loving group of Pre-K students has a range of abilities including being developmentally delayed, autistic, as well as a wide range of behavioral issues. While they have areas that they are working on such as potty training and speech, they have a curiosity about learning about the world around them each day. It is my goal to help my students meet developmental milestones while creating a learning environment that is caring and promotes a love of learning. I always look to build upon my students' strengths to help them get to the next level.

My Project

I am so thankful to have received one set of Magna-Tiles for my EC Pre-k students to work on in class to support their development with language, fine motor skills, and creativity. My students love the Magna-Tiles so much that I am looking to purchase additional Magna-Tiles so all of my students will have the opportunity to work with the Magna-Tiles during center time each day!

I have already begun to see the benefits of my students with the Magna-Tiles.

They are actively engaged, happy and excited to begin building with the Magna-Tiles each day. We have the opportunity to talk about the colors, shapes, and houses that we are building. With the Magna-Tiles house expansion pack, we will have stairs and doors to build more complex structures. The Stardust Magna-Tiles set has mirrors included that I know will excite my students as they build and are able to see their reflections.

My students need a lot of support in the area of language and sensory input each day. These magna-tiles will keep learning fun and exciting as we work to ensure all of my students are growing and meeting their developmental milestones! I am truly excited to embark on part 2 of this project to continue to give my students the support that they need! To my future donors thank you all for supporting my students needs for language, fine motor skills each day!
