Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

The Life Skills students have special learning needs. Most often, our students require specialized tools, materials ,and equipment. This year the students will learn to become independent in the kitchen.

Our goals for the students include: stirring, mixing, cutting, spreading, following recipe directions, properly storing food items, preparing food for cooking and baking, and learning to choose healthy eating options.

Our students are unique because they do not learn in the typical ways that non disabled students do. They need lots of hands on activities as well and real life experiences.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
