The students love working at a table with a lamp, and one of the great things is that the students can move the table lamp from one location in the room to another, depending on where they have chosen to work for the day. Even better, if the students tap the top of the lamp, they can change the type of light the lamp emits, and that choice gives them even more ownership of their learning. These lamps have made a significant impact on the motivation of the students I work with. Thank you for truly putting them in the best light!\r\n The light covers are not something that the students necessarily pay attention to each day, but from day one, I noticed a difference in the feel of the classroom. The light covers, by muting the flourescent overhead lights, have brought a warmth to the classroom. It feels good to be in the classroom! One of the students DID make a connection to the light covers just last week, though, when we were talking about forests (one of the designs on the light covers) and looking up through the trees to see the sky. \r\n Thank you for making a difference for my students!","fullyFundedDate":1755711034006,"projectUrl":"project/putting-students-in-the-best-light/9555589/","projectTitle":"Putting Students in the Best Light","teacherDisplayName":"Ms. Jedele","teacherPhotoUrl":"https://cdn.donorschoose.net/images/placeholder-avatars/272/teacher-placeholder-8_272.png?auto=webp","teacherClassroomUrl":"classroom/10111295"},{"teacherId":9745955,"projectId":9674281,"letterContent":"Because of your support, I was able to provide materials for our early childhood special education classrooms that help students access the bathroom, work on potty training, and learn to transition safely through the hallways.\r\n\r\nI've had the privilege of seeing these students make incredible progress — for example, learning to use a walking rope to walk safely from the classroom to recess. This gift has had an immediate and meaningful impact on our daily learning experience.\r\nOur new carpet has quickly become the heart of our classroom. It is where we gather each morning for our daily meetings, build community, work collaboratively in small groups, share stories, learn new concepts, and—on especially joyful days—celebrate with a little dancing. It has created a warm, welcoming, and comfortable space that helps foster connection, engagement, and a sense of belonging.\r\nWhen the students first walked in and saw the new carpet, their faces lit up with excitement. Many expressed how relieved they were that they no longer had to sit on the cold tile floor during lessons. The vibrant colors and soft texture instantly transformed the room, making our environment feel brighter, cozier, and more inviting. It has already made a noticeable difference in their level of comfort and enthusiasm during group activities.\r\nYour support has not only enhanced our physical space but has also shown our students that their learning matters and that there are people who care about their success.
