Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

While everyone else points out the obvious (hearing aids) about my students, I see the potential. I love my students because they are curious little humans. Due to their hearing loss, they do not acquire speech, language, and hearing development as their typical peers. This in turn affects how they navigate the real world and their social opportunities or lack there of.

Due to COVID 19 and other outstanding factors that they do not have control over, my students do not always acquire adequate social language for many occasions inside and outside of the classroom.

By providing and playing card games and board games, these demonstrations of social pragmatics will be disguised as a fun activity.
