Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
At our school, teachers, families, and students are working together to create a more LGBTQ affirming school community! Teachers from all grades, Pre-K to 5th grade, are working hard to ensure that their curricula don't erase LGBTQ themes, and LGBTQ folks who helped make our world a better place, like they historically have. These books will help our teachers teach robust lessons that teach them acceptance, self-love, and an appreciation for different forms of self-expression. Our younger readers will learn that boys can be princesses too, and that not all princesses want to wear pink! Our older students will learn about incredible LGBTQ people like Alan Turing, Sally Ride, and Harvey Milk! Please pitch in to give our amazing teachers and students the loving, exciting, and inclusive books they deserve!
