Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are diverse, creative, resilient, and have so much potential to learn. My school is a Title I (also called C.S.I.) school that has many families who are considered socio-economically disadvantaged, a high percentage of English language learners, a devoted hardworking staff, and students with the most heart and character.
I have been teaching here for 16 years and find it a privilege to do a job that I love!
My Project
Research shows that having students read books at their independent reading level helps them to grow as readers. I have quite a few higher readers who are reading above grade level. Unfortunately I don't have enough Level Q (fourth grade reading level) books to keep challenging these students.
Your donation to this project will help me grow my classroom library, especially at that "just right" reading level for my higher readers.
These titles are a great combination of fiction and nonfiction books to keep students interested and is sure to keep them loving to read!
