Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students are so energetic and excited about learning. They are making such progress with phonemic awareness. It is a joy to watch them transfer auditory understanding of letter sounds to written letters and words. However, many of my English Learning students still need more help with decoding and blending sounds as they learn to read.

The Tap and Write CVC cards in this project will help my students visualize and blend words as they continue to develop reading skills.

These cards will allow them to add kinesthetic movement to their oral and visual learning. Combining these learning styles will increase the effectiveness and help struggling students make important gains before the end of the school year.

Tap and write Dolch Sight Word Sentence Cards will provide the next step my students need to be able to read complete sentences. My English Language Learners lack the resources at home to help improve reading ability. I have seen great improvement with my students this year, and know these materials will make a big difference in their reading ability. I look forward to the excitement my students will have as they learn and grow, becoming proficient readers.
