This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Every year one of the most anticipated school events is the annual Rockland Read-In. It's a day when we drop everything, get comfy in our PJs and read all day!

This year's theme, "Let's Taco 'Bout Reading" is sure to be a huge hit!

I am requesting restaurant and food-themed decor and novelty items to transform my Library into a Reading Food Court complete with StarBooks, McReading's, Book-Fil-A, Readin' Donuts and more! This year we will be welcoming guest readers from our high school and community, as well as children's book author Lateefah C. Simpson, who will share and sign her book, Nyle the Crocodile and Glover the Plover.

With your help, this 40-year tradition will be the best (and most delicious) Read-In ever!
