This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

As a Math Support Specialist, I work with students across many different ability levels each day. One of my biggest goals is keeping students engaged in math while helping them build confidence and independence — without relying on computers.

I have found an incredible hands-on resource that my students absolutely love: VersaTiles.

VersaTiles provide students with a fun, interactive, and completely screen-free way to practice important math skills during whole-group instruction, small groups, and math centers.

What makes VersaTiles especially effective is the built-in self-checking system. Students can immediately see what they completed correctly and identify areas where they need additional practice. This encourages independence, problem-solving, and confidence while allowing students to work at their own pace.

My students thrive when they are using hands-on materials, and I have already seen how much more engaged and motivated they are with this type of learning. VersaTiles help make math feel accessible and exciting for all learners while reinforcing essential math standards in a meaningful way.

I am seeking support to purchase a full classroom set that includes multiple levels of activities in order to differentiate instruction and meet the diverse needs of my learners. Having a variety of levels will allow me to create flexible groups, provide targeted support, and ensure every student is working at an appropriate level while still feeling successful.

This resource would make a tremendous impact in helping my students strengthen their math proficiency, increase confidence, and develop a love for learning through engaging, hands-on experiences.
