My students are Title I, ESL students who are eager to learn. They try hard every day and look forward to school. They come from all different areas and they offer so much to the classroom community. My students love to create things, work well together, and love learning. They are great at exploring, questioning, and finding out answers, not from the teacher, but through their own investigations. My students go to school in Queens, and live very near the school. They are exceptional students who are English language learners. My students are curious learners who are eager to explore, and learn about new things. They are very creative and have a love for learning!
My Project
The students in my class will be working on a baby doll inquiry study in the spring. They will each receive a baby doll of different skin color and race. The students will be engaged in learning all about babies and how to care for the babies. This will help them with vocabulary as well as spark their curiosity and interest in caring for the babies. The students will use the babies in their centers in class, and they will take them home daily, which will help them with language development and writing.
