Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

Students at my school are incredible. Our students are eager to learn every day because they know that when they build their basic reading and writing skills, they get to engage in STEM learning!

Our students take risks, are creative, and use their critical thinking skills to build on their education.

Like any normal children their age, our students are active and love to engage in learning opportunities that allow them to move.

At our STEM school, we are able to afford them that chance! Our students love to build, innovate, and solve real-world problems. I am impressed with our students on a daily basis and would do anything to support them and their learning needs!

My Project

This year, I am an out of classroom teacher, supporting all of our students on campus. My job works with students and families to help remove barriers that may impact their education. Barriers can be social/emotional, academic, and even access to resources outside of the school day that impact learning (food, clothing, shelter). I am requesting prizes and bins to organize the prizes in my office to create a student store!

This is an unprecedented school year, and we need to motivate our students to keep pushing forward.

I would like to do this by creating a student store where students who are exhibiting good behavior and effort can earn points, then come redeem them for a prize! This DonorsChoose project will get my student store off to a great start.
