Let's build a library

Help me give my students books to read. I am a high school special education teacher. Most of the materials in our school library are on the high school level. We need books that my kids can read.

My Students

As the teacher of a self-contained classroom in the exceptional children's department, I enjoy working with a variety learners. My students enjoy being at school and learning new skills through out the year. As part of my students curriculum, my kids use a variety of sources for their educational needs. Laptops and the smart-board are two sources for my students. However, through continuous use that has caused wear and tear on their equipment, our students need headphones for the use of their laptops. The use of the laptops have been a very crucial part of their education.

My classroom is in desperate need of more reading material.

My kids read a lot of leveled reading books. My students continue to read the same books each year. I want to give my students the opportunities to have enough reading books that will last through the whole school year without having to revisit the books that they have already read. Moreover, I believe that having a library of books that are designed for my special education classroom will give the students a thirst to read more.

My Project

The books that we receive will help build and expand our classroom library. Having more materials and selection of books will increase the interest of reading for all of my students.

I am wanting to give my kids more age appropriate books and materials to read.

My students are not ready for the high school level reading materials. They need books that they can read and enjoy.

My students love to read. However, most of books have been read two or three times. Please help us give my students a wider choice to read. Thank you for your support and help.
