My Students

How does it work? What makes that happen? These are just a few questions I get daily during science lessons. I want more hands-on experiment supplies for my students to SEE how things work and MAKE things happen. Science will be so much more fun and interesting with my students working with me.

I teach 2nd grade in a small, rural school in Arkansas.

Many of my students come from a low-socioeconomic background. Several of my students are being raised by extended families or live in broken homes. My students need these experiences to build their background knowledge to learn about life. These experiments allow us to work together and spend time learning together. My students love lab time and I want to be able to provide all the needed supplies.

My Project

My students are very interested in science. I know these science experiments will help them understand and love learning! We will be able to create electricity and simple machines. Also, the Time For Kids magazines are FULL of wonderful knowledge. The kids love the vivid pictures and articles.

In a small school district, money is tight.

I know that my kids need these experiences to become better students and to learn about life. I want these experiments to open the eyes of my students to see how and why our world works.
