My Project

My students range from K-8th grade in an alternative learning program. They are always excited to learn and try new things on our in-person class days. As an alternative learning program my students come together in two multi-age classrooms and learn from and with one another. It amazes me how age and grade melts away and doesn't matter as they talk, listen and help one another in class. They are a unique group of kiddos who are willing to try new things and participate in many activities.

The one thing my students are missing in their education is music.

With the use of boomwhackers and hand bells I can begin to teach them scales, sound, pitch, tone, rhythm and song. We can work as a team to collaborate and make music together. They will see the importance of each member of our class. They will learn to trust one another and support one another as they learn rhythm and song.
