Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

During the conferring block of Writer's Workshop, students are excited to share their work but they get frustrated because they are unable to show the detailed illustration they drew to go along with their writing.

My students are eager learners who come to school ready to share their thoughts and stories.

We are at a large elementary, therefore I have to check out a projector and document reader on a daily basis. There are days when we are left without the projector because another teacher has already checked it out for the day. It's frustrating for both the students and myself because I know students listening to the "author of the day" will have trouble seeing if the illustration matches the writing.

My Project

By having a projector and document reader, students will be able to share their detailed drawings that go along with their writing. Providing this technology on a daily basis, they will be eager to share their work because it'll be displayed on the board twenty times bigger than the actual size. Can you imagine how many student's hands will rise to share their work?

By giving students the opportunity to display their work through the projector, they will be encouraged to continue writing detailed writings because they will feel like real authors.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
