My Students

Our school is a Head Start/Title I school. Our community has many families with financial needs. Our school provides an early education for the children of those familes who may not otherwise have the opportunity. I am so thankful that I am able to work with these students and families and help provide the students with a foundation for learning.

My students have a love for learning and are excited about new opportunities to grow socially, emotionally and academically.

When they leave here, I want my students to be prepared not only for kindergarten academically but socially as well.

My Project

I have chosen these materials for my project because I feel LEGO packs will not only help with math concepts but they will also promote creativity and increase the students language development, letter knowledge, and storytelling skills.

LEGO will be used during centers and circle time, as well as when we are working on specific academic skills in small groups.

I will use the community helper minifigure set when we do our community helper unit study to give my students the opportunity to discover how people live, work and help each other. The storytelling set will be used to help my students collaborate and develop speaking and listening skills as they build their stories and role-play. I will use the LEGO Letter set to help my students have a new and exciting way to explore their letter knowledge.
