My Students

Creating a classroom learning environment and space that fits the need of all students has become a passion of mine. I teach students from all different backgrounds and it is my goal to make sure that when they enter my room, they are comfortable and taken care of. I believe that when students feel comfortable and loved, they are more willing to participate and try their best to succeed.

This year I have found a way to differentiate my lessons for my students in a unique way that utilizes almost all of the space in my classroom.

My students are very active and love to wiggle so I try to incorporate Math activities where they are moving. Movement in Math can come in many different forms! Two of my favorite ways to get my students to move comes in the form of station work where they rotate groups or a fun math review game like "Scoot" where they move every minute! These carpet squares would be utilized during station work time.

My Project

The only problem I am coming across in teaching students away from their desks is that some of my students are sitting on a cold hard floor. My hope is that through DonorsChoose.org, I can acquire carpet squares so that my students will be able to work anywhere.I already use clipboards and allow my students to work where they are comfortable during station work, so these carpet squares will help them be even more comfortable on the floor! My students love to do their work away from their desks!

My students will be able to get up and move away from desks with their learning!
