My Students

As many of you know, I live in a rural area of North Carolina. Most of our students come from low income areas. Hit hard but multiple hurricanes, many families are just getting back on their feet.

My students have a drive and desire to learn; but at times, we lack the funding that is needed.

These particular students are two groups of fourth graders. They are in my intervention group that I see five days a week. We work on literacy skills. These particular students need literacy support.

My Project

This project is to give students a means to have movement while also learning. The use of flexible seating has been shown to be extremely beneficial for students with disabilities and regular education students who may be more restless.

By providing the funding for this project, you are allowing learning to take place for all students.

This will allow students be successful and allow movement to occur in the classroom along with learning.

This project will encourage flexible seating and allow students the means to redirect their energy in a way where they can continue to work and move at the same time. The chairs provide a safe environment to continue in the classroom.
