Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

This project will enable my students to learn using lasers. With your donation we can have a Laser engraver that the students can use to engrave projects and personalize items. The biggest challenge that we face is that we do not have all of the resources to accomplish this project. My students are able to create laser etching and engraving designs on Tinkercad and other free software programs but they are not able to actually engrave or cut their designs out without a laser engraver. With this Ortur laser Master 2 Pro my students can work to design STL files that we can actually engrave on many different materials. These engravings can be taken home when finished. Some of the materials that can be used are wood, ceramics, metal and mirrored surfaces. My students would be able to learn using this cutting edge technology. I foresee the market for laser engraving and cutting careers to grow exponentially in the future, and I want to help prepare my students for this amazing opportunity.
