I Teach 4K! These students are the youngest and most eager learners of our school! They enter my classroom with great anticipation each day, hoping to get a first-hand look at what our day has in store! They have an amazing zest for learning and for exploring new and innovative activities every day! This not only makes my heart smile but also drives me to keep on keeping on this crazy path called teaching.
I use a thematic approach to teaching my students and I create learning centers based on early childhood readiness skills.
My students learn primarily through play and hands-on activities. Our room is never quiet because I encourage the kids to use their language during their work and play.
My Project
This portable, kid-durable and rechargeable light cube would be the most amazing science center in my four-year-old kindergarten classroom! It would meet the needs of my regular and special ed. students as well as engage my most reluctant children I work with each day. I could use it for individual or small group play as I reinforce our everyday focus of 4K readiness skills such as counting, sorting, sequencing and building activities! My students would have the choice to either stand or kneel at the cube as they engage in focused quiet play! (I repeat--quiet play!)
This color-changing cube would draw students to it and light up their imaginations providing years of use in our 4k classroom!
In today's schools, I feel it important for teachers to seek out new and innovating activities to add to their curriculum to help turn kids onto learning in our world of technology! This color-changing cube with accessories could be that new "Wow" factor in my two classes of 46 four-year-old kindergarten students!
