Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students come from low socio-economic backgrounds. Many students enter my classroom knowing a minimal amount of language skills. Through play and conversation, students are able to build their language skills, which helps develop their brains to slowly build on their language comprehension skills. Using the manipulatives can and become conversation starters amongst children while learning through play. My students love to engage in conversations with one another and these little conversations make our classroom fun and inviting. These conversation skills are major developmental skills necessary for reading. Students can practice social-emotional skills with one another as they play side-by-side with classmates. These tools will help engage my students in learning through play and make the school day fun. I love that my students use play to communicate. They use play to learn about the world around them. They also use play to learn how to work as a team.
