My students are intelligent, capable of greatness and diverse in their wants and needs. My students make me proud of them everyday. They love to learn and interact with one another cooperatively. My students sometimes worry about how their parents will make rent every month. Many of my students have not worn a new shirt in years as they have to participate in programs that give hand me down clothing to needy families. My students attend special programs to help them with learning disabilities, emotional disturbances, depression, speech impairments and Reading setbacks. My students attend a school that is at or around 90% socioeconomically disadvantaged. Their school has 156 English Language Learners. Our school is a Program Improvement School that is striving to raise up school performance scores through intervention, staff development programs, implementation of technological programs to help students improve in areas of Reading, Writing, Math and other social skills.
