Help me give my students opportunities to learn through play. We work hard throughout the week on school curriculum. These games will give students the opportunity to further their learning in a fun and creative way.
I have a thoughtful, creative, and playful group of second graders. They love being challenged in fun ways that allow them to think outside of the box! In our classroom, we see challenges as opportunities for growth!
The children in my room come to school each day eager to learn.
They each learn in their own way. I incorporate a variety of strategies in my classroom in order to reach each individual student: flexible seating, group work, and sensory breaks to name a few. While the students have various needs and preferences when it comes to learning, I have found all students in my classroom have at least one learning preference in common... they each love learning through PLAY!
My Project
It is no secret that schools look a lot different this year. With the pandemic, students are currently unable to share toys and games with their classmates like they had in previous years. I have had to re-think learning through play in my classroom. While it looks different this year, it is just as important.
Play gives students the opportunity to practice what they are learning.
My kids work so hard on their day to day assignments. These games and tools will reward them for their hard work while deepening their understanding of what we have been learning in our lessons. Once students have completed their classroom work, they will be rewarded by being able to choose a fun activity to work on. The games donated through this project will encourage students to work hard on their daily work.
