My Project

Outdoor play and outdoor learning experiences will have a meaningful impact on my Pre-K students by supporting their early development in engaging, hands-on, and age-appropriate ways. At this stage, young children learn best through movement, exploration, and social interaction. Providing opportunities for outdoor learning will strengthen their physical, social, emotional, and academic growth while making learning more joyful and meaningful.

Each of the materials I am requesting will be used to support active participation in outdoor Pre-K learning experiences.

The stepping stones will be used to create obstacle courses that allow students to practice balance, coordination, and safe risk-taking as they move from one point to another. The stepping stone exercise cards will provide structured movement ideas that guide students through fun physical challenges, encouraging following directions, turn-taking, and teamwork. The balance beam will help students develop body awareness, focus, and stability as they practice walking and balancing skills outdoors.

The round sensory floor tiles will be used as movement and learning stations outdoors, where students can jump, step, or follow patterns for activities such as counting, sequencing, and color recognition. These tiles will support both sensory needs and early academic skills through active play. The bean bags will be used for tossing games, target practice, and cooperative group activities that build hand-eye coordination, social interaction, and gross motor strength. The peanut ball will be used for core strengthening, balance activities, and calming movement breaks that help students regulate their bodies while staying engaged in outdoor learning.

Together, these materials will create a structured yet flexible outdoor environment where Pre-K students can safely explore, move, and learn. They will support active engagement, encourage collaboration, and ensure that all students have meaningful opportunities to participate in outdoor play and hands-on learning experiences.
