My Project

My students are curious, creative, and eager to learn. I love how they respond positively when lessons are interactive and meaningful. Many of my students benefit from hearing texts read aloud because listening helps them better understand pronunciation, vocabulary, and the overall meaning. Some students are still developing confidence in reading, and providing additional ways to access texts helps them feel more successful and supported.

This project, “Learning Through Listening: A Podcast Approach to Reading,” combines podcasts with reading instruction to improve comprehension, fluency, and listening skills.

Students listen to stories and informational texts while reading along with printed passages. Hearing tone, pacing, and expression helps students better understand texts, especially those who struggle with decoding unfamiliar words or grasping complex ideas.

Students will also record their own reading and reflections, boosting confidence, fluency, and communication skills. This interactive method makes reading more engaging and supports various learning styles.

These materials will help students fully engage in podcast-based learning activities. Wireless speakers will ensure that all students can clearly hear podcasts and audio recordings from anywhere in the classroom, helping them concentrate on pronunciation and important details. The microphone and stand kit will allow students and the teacher to record clear audio, helping students practice reading aloud and build confidence. The audio mixer will deliver balanced sound quality during recording and playback, making sure voices are heard clearly and creating a more engaging listening experience. These resources will foster an inclusive environment where students can listen, read, and actively participate in literacy learning.
