Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I work at a school where 100% of our students are new to this country and many come to us not speaking English. With that being said, I am always trying to find meaningful and engaging ways for my students to learn about the real world while also learning English.

We have had a dramatic play center for about two months now, and my students have learned more within the center than I could have taught them without letting them explore.

This dramatic play center allows for students to learn conversational English, reading/writing/math skills, SEL learning skills, and so much more!

I am wanting to turn the center into a doctors/vet office for students to engage and learn more about the profession and so they can relate to what they are playing. What kid doesn't love animals? I am asking for stuffed animals, Doctor Kits, Vet Playsets and an Analog Platform Scale to equip our new Vet Office.

All materials in this project will be loved for years to come and be every beneficial in my student's learning. The dramatic play center is used every day in math and English settings, so all materials will be used every day of learning!
