My Project

One of the greatest joys of special education is the students themselves. Each student is incredibly unique, smart, and genuinely funny, each bringing their own personality, strengths, and perspectives into the classroom every day.

Many of our students thrive when learning is predictable, calm, and tailored to their individual needs.

Headphones allow them to focus on their own computers during independent learning time by reducing distractions and supporting sensory regulation, which helps them stay engaged and confident in their work. Classroom timers provide clear visual boundaries and expectations, helping students understand how long they will work, when breaks will occur, and when it is time to transition. Together, these tools create a structured, supportive environment where students can feel successful, build independence, and fully access their learning. At this time, our students go between classrooms in order to get these essential tools as they are constantly being taken, lost, broken, etc. Getting enough for every teacher will save the headache for everyone!
