Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

I will be teaching first grade this year. I am looking forward to a wonderful group of children that will greet me each day. My students come from diverse backgrounds, and I am looking for your support.

My main goal is to expose the children to a variety of nonfiction resources to learn.

Scholastic News and the Science edition help support S.T.E.M. instruction as well as my E.L.A. block. I purchased this for my class in the past and would love your support today. My students gravitate to these magazines. We have flexible seating, so they love learning on the rug and answering the questions on the back. I do upload the magazine to the computer during center time.

The children truly absorb all the information in these two-page magazines.

We continue the lesson by drawing an animal from the selection and writing two facts to match the picture. At this time, I observe who can find a fact, match it to their picture, and write a complete sentence.

This project will directly impact historically underfunded classrooms.
