This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Students

My students are extremely inquisitive, and ready to learn. They are active learners and are curious about the world in which they live and grow.

The neighborhood is comprised of low income minority students of which about 90% are English language learners.

My students are very eager to learn and I just want to be able to provide them a space to learn and grow. I want to make sure they enjoy learning by providing them with hands on activities so they are able to learn through play.

My Project

The materials I am requesting will be used for literacy and math centers in my Kindergarten classroom. Students learn through play and these supplies will be a great way to reinforce math and literacy skills.

By donating to this project, you will help students to learn key skills to excel in Kindergarten.

My students will be able to use these items daily in the classroom as part of my reading and math small group instruction. While using these hands on activities, my students will be motivated and excited to learn and reinforce their knowledge in math skills as well as literacy skills.

I need the CD book set to use in my listening center. Students benefit from listening to a story and following along especially because most of my students are English Language Learners. I will also use the Fishing for Sight words game during my reading block. Students will have an opportunity to learn their Kindergarten words through play.

The rest of the items are needed to support my students with their math skills. They will use these items in small groups to practice number identification, counting, composing and decomposing, addition and subtraction skills.
