My Students

My classroom is full of a group of active, highly passionate, and driven students that absolutely love to learn. In our classroom, the students love to use different learning strategies and methods which helps each of them to become equipped with different "tools" to include in their toolbox for a lifetime of learning.

Each child in my classroom comes with a myriad of different strengths as well as areas for growth, which helps make me strive to become a better teacher.

They are truly an incredible group, and I am so lucky and thankful to have a new group of learners that are excited and ready to learn each year!

My Project

I have requested all of these items to directly impact the students in my classroom. Over the last few years with COVID-19, it has been difficult for students to want to come to school and be engaged in their learning. However, I am hoping that receiving the things on my project will help change that.

We are seeing a rapid decline in reading skills, a love for reading, & students reading for fun; which is why I want to bring the fun back to reading!

We know that reading is such a foundational skill for students to continue to build upon for years to come. With the books requested on my project I hope to boost students' desire and interest in reading while also providing books that my ESL and minority students can pick up and read themselves.

I also want to provide opportunities for my students to be able to come to school and not feel the pressure of having to constantly be working on something curriculum-based. I wholeheartedly believe that we need to give students room to breathe, be themselves, and have fun at school to increase their overall desire to be in the classroom with us. I have asked for board games, markers, and a Sphero Bolt to allow for students to participate in fun activities that will expand classroom community.
