Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The children in my classroom come into school everyday energized and excited to be in school. It is always wonderful to share the joy our children have for learning. In my Prek classroom a lot of the children learn through visual aids. These visual aides help children participate in daily activities and follow classroom routines
I am looking to create an environment filled with colorful visuals to support children's learning and language development.
The children in my classroom come from a low-income/high poverty inner city school district. A majority of the children are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. These children deserve a beautiful environment to learn in.
My Project
Imagine learning in a classroom filled with black and white pictures. An early childhood classroom should be filled with vibrant colors. In a Prek classroom, it is also important to have a color printer to print a variety of pictures that relate to the theme being studied and colorful vocabulary words to label classroom materials.
Majority of the children who come into my classroom are learning to speak English and are children who need visuals to help understand vocabulary and develop language.
The children love seeing pictures of themselves around the classroom. Several times during the year we have the parents come into the classroom for different activities, it is always nice to have pictures hanging up around the room of these events.
