This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
My students are creative, thoughtful and full of questions! They absolutely love hands-on, active, engaging projects and challenges that allow them to think outside the box to find solutions! They come to school each day ready to try new things and take brave chances in order to grow both personally and academically. Truly, they are my inspiration!
Our school is nestled in the heart of southern Maryland, which was once surrounded by bustling businesses, army base, etc.
Now, with many of them closed, our families often struggle to find employment and opportunity. These tablets will allow my students to engage in education through modern digital devices.
My Project
Amazon Fire Tablets make it easy to watch videos that are relevant to what students are learning in the classroom. Teachers can use tablets as a classroom management tool, such as offering game time as a reward. Plus, teachers can use timer apps and noise level apps for more classroom management help.
Students need to be prepared for a 21st-century workplace.
I must create lessons that use tools which will positively influence my student's ability to enter a digital world. My overall goal while using these tablets is for my students to sharpen reading, writing, research, and collaboration skills. With these abilities, students will not only thrive in a Social Studies classroom but in all of the there classes!
