Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I will be teaching 25 curious students at a dual immersion school in which they learn English 50% of the day and Spanish 50% of the day. Although I have been working in schools for the past 5 years, I’m so excited to finally have my own classroom where we will all learn to grow, play, and explore.
Although I don’t know my students yet, I know that I will have students of diverse levels of learning and personalities.
I am so excited to be their teacher!
My Project
As a kindergarten teacher, I provide the first experience many students have in a classroom. The alphabet center requested in this project will help my students to learn their letters and sounds, which will then help my students learn to read. The big books will be used to read aloud to students, building their emerging reading skills. Also with these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level.
This project will also allow access to math manipulatives such as the teddy bear counters to help my students learn to count, as well as calendar activites and pattern blocks.
By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
