As a kindergarten teacher, I provide the first experience many students have in a classroom. The alphabet center requested in this project will help my students to learn their letters and sounds, which will then help my students learn to read. The big books will be used to read aloud to students, building their emerging reading skills. Also with these new books, my students will be able to choose from a variety of books that will allow them to read independently at their own grade level. This project will also allow access to math manipulatives such as the teddy bear counters to help my students learn to count, as well as calendar activites and pattern blocks. By donating to our project, you will not only help to improve and increase student attention and focus, you will ultimately help to increase their academic achievement.
